Exposure Training

CONTENTS

Exposure training is a tool that can be activated under Features in Settings on the programme. The feature gives the patient the opportunity to practise exposure training in situations that are often experienced as challenging for them.

If the feature is activated, there are three different options:

  • Simplified (new)
  • Panic disorder (old)
  • Social anxiety (old)

New solution (from 2026)

Patient access

When Simplified (new) is selected, it is possible for both patient and clinician to use a simpler logging tool. The patient gets access to My exposures in the patient application for recording:

  • Date of the exposure.
  • What was done.
  • Which catastrophising thoughts occurred.
  • Experiences with the exercise.
  • Motivation for doing the exercise again.

After the entry has been completed, it is possible to save the information.

In the overview under History a list of registered exposures can be seen, and it is possible to select a date to show the corresponding entries.

Therapist overview

On the patient page under Exposure training in Diary the clinician can see a graphical presentation of number of exposures per week and a table showing the patient’s entries. The clinician can also toggle on or off whether they want to sort by logging date instead of date of exposure.

Previous solution

Patient access

If Panic disorder (old) or Social anxiety (old) is selected, My exposures are made available to the patient. The choice between Panic disorder and Social anxiety disorder affects which predefined exposure examples are shown in the logging tool.

When Panic disorder (old) or Social anxiety (old) are activated, the My exposures tool in the main menu gives the patient the opportunity to:

  • Describe a planned exposure with expected bodily reactions.
  • Carry out and then log the experience.
  • See previous exposures and associated experiences.

When logging after a completed exposure the patient records information such as:

  • Which exercise it concerned.
  • Whether the exercise was completed.
  • Any situations that triggered increased anxiety.
  • Learning or insight from the experience.

Therapist overview

The clinician will find the registrations under Exposure training under Health in the Diary menu on the patient page. Here they can see:

  • Date of completion.
  • Which situation or exercise was selected.
  • Indication of completion.
  • Notes or reflections from the patient.
