Here is the recommended and supported file formats and maximum file size limits. This can be useful for uploading files in various contexts in the platform.
Maximum file size
- Uploads in the program (such as items or parts of items on a content page): up to 300 MB
- Patient files (attachments sent directly to a patient as a message, attachment in a note, etc.): up to 50 MB
Supported file formats
| Category | Recommended format | Other supported formats | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Images | .png | .jpg, .jpeg, .webp | Illustrations, screenshots, photography etc. |
| Animations | .gif | – | Simple animations or “loop” graphics |
| Video | .mp4 | – | Video clips |
| Audio | .mp3 | – | Voice recordings, audio clips or music |
| Documents | – | Viewing and downloading of documents | |
| Data files | .json | – | Files related to import and export of content pages, items and programs |
Additional information
- For images that require high quality, .png is typically used.
- For images where a lower file size is possible, .jpg can be relevant, for example for illustrations in the program based on photography.
- Video and audio files can be optimised before uploading by reducing bitrate in a video for lower file size, which can give faster loading and better performance.
- If uploading files does not work as expected, checking file size and format can be a good starting point.
